How Lootsy works

Then they save their diamonds for a reward you chose.

Hey kids, this part's for you

Meet Louie, your quest buddy.

Louie's a little dragon who loves treasure. Finish a quest, get your grown-up's okay, and a chest shows up for you to crack open.

What they do
  • Loot chestsEvery finished quest is a chest. Some hide a surprise that levels up your dragon!
  • StreaksDo your quests every day and the flame grows. Big streaks mean bonus chests.
  • 12 badgesFrom “First Quest” to “Unstoppable.” Can you get them all?
  • Your styleLevel up to unlock 36 looks for your dragon, like a top hat, a crown or a dragon buddy.
  • Your goalPick the prize you want most and watch your savings bar fill up.

What Louie teaches while they play

Work earns rewardSaving beats spendingConsistency compoundsTrust has a rhythmYour family's valuesWords that land
Why it works
  • Work earns reward. Diamonds never appear for free. Every one traces back to a made bed or a finished book.
  • Saving beats spending. The LEGO set costs 250 diamonds and the treat costs 30. Watching a savings bar crawl toward something big is a first budget, disguised as a game.
  • Consistency compounds. Streaks pay bonuses for showing up daily, and a Streak Shield forgives one missed day.
  • Trust has a rhythm. Finish, get checked, get rewarded. The approval loop practices accountability a dozen times a week.
  • Your family's values. Chores, reading, practice, kindness to siblings. You decide what counts and what it's worth.
  • Words that land. Add a quick note when you approve, and your kid finds it inside the chest.

Questions parents ask

How does Lootsy work, step by step?
  1. You set the quests. Tell Lootsy your kid's age and interests and it suggests age-fit chores and habits with fair diamond values. Add your own in seconds.
  2. They finish, you check. Your kid taps "I'm all done!" and it lands in your approval queue. You check the actual bed. Only your yes turns work into diamonds.
  3. The chest opens. Approved quests arrive as loot chests. Diamonds burst out, streaks build bonus loot — and your note, if you left one, is waiting inside.
  4. They save for a goal. Kids pick a goal in the reward shop and watch the savings bar fill. You stock the shop, and every reward needs your final yes.
What is Lootsy?

Lootsy is a chore and reward app for families. Kids complete chores and habits ("quests"), parents approve them, and approved quests turn into loot chests full of diamonds that kids save up and trade for rewards the parent chooses. It borrows the reward loop kids love from games — loot, streaks, levels — and attaches it to real-world responsibility.

How much does Lootsy cost?

Free plan: up to 2 kids and 6 quests per kid, with the whole kid experience (loot chests, levels, titles, the full dragon wardrobe) free. Lootsy Plus: $4.99/month or $39.99/year (save 33%): unlimited kids and quests for one household, AI quest and reward ideas, and family insights. Families can try Plus free for 14 days, once, with no card required; afterwards they're back on the free plan unless they subscribe, and nothing is deleted.

What ages is Lootsy for?

Kid profiles support ages 4 to 17; quest suggestions adapt to each kid's age and interests, drawing on a library of 133 chores and habits and 73 reward ideas. Younger kids get simple quests like "put toys away"; teens get bigger ones like "cook a meal" worth more diamonds.

Does Lootsy use real money or a debit card?

No real money moves inside Lootsy. Diamonds are points (a guideline of 1 diamond ≈ 5¢ helps parents price rewards), there is no bank account or debit card, and parents fulfil every reward themselves. If you want a real debit card for your kid, an allowance-banking app is a better fit; Lootsy is for motivating habits without handing kids a card.

Is Lootsy safe for kids?

Kid profiles are a first name and an age — no kid email, photos, location or contact details. No ads, no chat, no social features. The parent area is protected by a PIN (or Face ID on the parent's own phone). A family account needs only a parent email; kids' devices join with a family code. Lootsy uses anonymous product analytics (PostHog) to improve the app — no ads, no cross-app tracking, no kid names — and parents can turn it off in Settings. Data is never sold.

Do kids need their own device?

No. One shared iPad or phone works: kids pick their profile, and parents unlock the parent area with a PIN. Want more devices? Send an invite link or enter your family code on each one, and quests, approvals and loot sync live between them.
